The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) failed to end last week on a positive note. In Friday’s trading session (Dec. 19, 2025), the index closed slightly lower by 0.10% at 8,609.55.
Throughout the week, the JCI managed to finish in positive territory on only one trading day, resulting in a total weekly decline of 0.59%.
Despite the market’s downward movement, foreign investors recorded substantial net buying activity. Foreign net purchases reached Rp1.13 trillion in the negotiated and cash markets, while total net buying across all markets amounted to Rp895.07 billion. At the same time, foreign net selling was recorded at Rp233.71 billion.
