Several analysts predict that the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) has the potential to strengthen in today’s trading session on Thursday (April 23, 2026), while also providing a number of stock recommendations. According to IDX Mobile data on Wednesday (April 22, 2026), the IHSG declined by 0.24% or 17.77 points to 7,541. Despite the drop, most stocks ended the session in positive territory, with 459 advancing, 251 declining, and 249 remaining unchanged.
Two stocks expected to be removed from the MSCI index, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk. (BREN) and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA), both recorded notable declines. The IHSG’s correction was also in line with the movement of several large-cap stocks. Shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) fell 0.77% to Rp6,450, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk. (BREN) dropped 9.62% to Rp5,400, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk. (TPIA) declined 1.98% to Rp6,175, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) slipped 0.92% to Rp3,240, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA) weakened 9.71% to Rp2,510.
The MNC Sekuritas analyst team assessed that the IHSG is currently positioned at the end of wave [iv] under the black label, or alternatively at the end of wave [a] of wave B under the red label. This suggests that the index remains vulnerable to further correction, with the nearest downside target estimated in the range of 7,245–7,447, which may also close several existing gaps.
Although there is potential for an upward move, in the short term the IHSG is expected to test the range of 7,580–7,601. Overall, the index is projected to move within support levels of 7,488 and 7,351, and resistance levels of 7,700 and 7,861. MNC Sekuritas recommends investors consider a buy on weakness strategy for PT Aspirasi Hidup Indonesia Tbk. (ACES), PT Bank Neo Commerce Tbk. (BBYB), and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI), as well as a speculative buy approach for PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk. (GOTO).
