DIGIVESTASI - Billionaire Elon Musk plans to open source his Grok chatbot. This intention comes as the feud between Musk and OpenAI intensifies. "This week, @xAI will open source Grok," Musk said in a post on X (Twitter).

Grok itself was launched at the end of 2023 with the aim of further developing OpenAI, which Musk co-developed with CEO Sam Altman in 2015. Musk left OpenAI a few years after founding it. However, he filed a lawsuit against OpenAI last week, alleging that the company's profits were more important than its original mission.

Many tech investors have different opinions regarding AI development. On the other hand, companies like Meta support open source systems. This system gives researchers and other companies access to how the technology works to develop products.

On the other hand, OpenAI and Google favor a high level of secrecy to protect their technology from criminals. Shortly after filing the lawsuit, Musk said he would drop the suit if OpenAI changed its name to ClosedAI, according to AFP.

OpenAI argued that Musk's lawsuit was just "a bad example of leaving the company".
"Given the tremendous technological progress OpenAI has achieved, Mr. Musk now wants to achieve this success on his own," OpenAI said.
