Microsoft Announces Copilot Studio, Enabling Users to Create Their Own Custom AI Chatbots

After announcing the change of the name Bing Chat to Copilot at the Microsoft Ignite 2023 event this week, Microsoft has officially launched a new service known as Copilot Studio. Copilot Studio is a platform that allows users to create customizable AI Copilot chatbots according to the needs of companies and users.

Conceptually, Copilot Studio is similar to OpenAI's GPTs announced a few weeks ago. The GPTs platform can be used to create a version of ChatGPT that better suits user preferences.

Returning to Copilot Studio, in simple terms, it is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) product included in the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot package. With Copilot Studio, business owners and companies using Microsoft 365 services can create Copilot chatbots according to their needs.

Features that can be configured through Copilot Studio include automatic data flow and processing, data selection and sorting, creating new data, data analysis processes, data management, and more. Thus, the Copilot digital assistant created by a company can be used by employees to streamline and improve job efficiency.

Jared Spataro, Head of Modern Work and Business Applications at Microsoft, claims that creating a Copilot digital assistant through Copilot Studio is quite easy because it relies on everyday language and graphical menus available in the application.

"Simply input queries in everyday language or use the menus in the application, and Copilot Studio will display the design and functions that a custom Copilot can have," said Jared, quoted from TheVerge.

In addition to the ability to create custom Copilot chatbots, Jared explains that Copilot Studio also allows IT admins to monitor the usage of Copilot by employees, including those who can create custom Copilots through Copilot Studio.

Moreover, this service can also act as a bridge to similar services from OpenAI, namely the GPT Platform, to integrate Copilot and custom versions of ChatGPT tailored by each company.

Copilot Studio can also be integrated with various Microsoft AI services, such as Microsoft Azure OpenAI Studio, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Bot Service, and other Microsoft AI services.

For availability, Copilot Studio can now be used by companies and businesspeople starting today, Thursday (16/11/2023). Further information about this latest Microsoft SaaS product can be found at the following link.

Regarding Copilot Studio, this software is one of many new announcements made by Microsoft at the Ignite 2023 event this week.

In addition to this service, Microsoft previously announced the name change from Bing Chat to Copilot and also launched two new AI chips named Maia 100 and Cobalt 100. These two AI chips are used to support and accelerate AI workloads in various computer data centers using Microsoft Azure's cloud and AI services.
