DIGIVESTASI - PT Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) has provided 49 base transceiver stations (BTS) for 5G and 4G networks in the nation's capital and other supporting areas. As a subsidiary of Telkom Group, Telkomsel ensures the readiness of advanced infrastructure in IKN in order to support the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in IKN. Telkomsel Network Director, Indra Mardiatna, stated that Telkomsel has increased network capacity and quality in two IKN buffer cities, namely Balikpapan and Samarinda, to ensure service connectivity remains smooth for migrants and guests entering the IKN area.
Indra explained that this service covers 10 special areas, including airports, shopping centers, inns, and main roads connecting the two cities to the IKN area.
Telkomsel, said Indra, is committed to providing convenient communication access in IKN and supporting digital transformation in various sectors. This step aims to realize IKN's vision of becoming a sustainable city in the world with future technology-based smart city capabilities. "This step is in line with Telkomsel's vision and mission to provide leading-edge services that empower the community and support the government in efforts to equalize development and provide infrastructure that can drive the Indonesian economy in a sustainable manner," Indra said in his official statement, Tuesday (6/8/2024).
In addition, Telkomsel also prepares a variety of digital products and services by presenting customer service centers, including booths in the arrival area of Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Balikpapan Airport and GraPARI Nusantara located in the IKN Construction Workers' Residence (HPK). Indra stated that these customer service points provide various services such as purchasing data packages, physical vouchers, top-ups, purchasing prepaid SIM cards and eSIMs, replacing lost or damaged cards, upgrading uSIM 4G/LTE cards, registering Telkomsel Halo (postpaid) customers, purchasing Orbit modems and IndiHome services, redeeming Telkomsel Points, and activating the 5G network.
"All of our initiatives, from the readiness of the leading broadband network to various innovative products and services," he said. Telkomsel hopes that these initiatives can provide a smooth and efficient communication experience in meeting the digital needs of all customers in IKN.
