DIGIVESTASI - The Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Agency (Bappebti) has updated the list of crypto assets legally traded in Indonesia (February 19).

Bappebti has passed PerBa (Bappebti Regulation) Number 2 Year 2024 on the Second Amendment to the Regulation of the Commodity Futures Trading Supervisory Authority Number 11 Year 2022 on the Determination of the List of Crypto Assets Traded in the Spot Crypto Asset Market.

According to PLT Bappebti Kazan, this regulatory update was implemented in response to market needs and to provide security and legal protection to the public when trading crypto assets in the crypto physical market. 

In the making of this Perba, Bappebti has created a whitelist that aims to minimize the risk of trading crypto assets whose types have unclear whitepapers or are used for illegal purposes such as money laundering. The determination of legal crypto assets is carried out by a crypto asset listing evaluation team consisting of representatives of Bappebti, associations, and industry stakeholders.

List of new legal cryptocurrencies in Indonesia in 2024

The 27-page document states that there are 545 legal cryptocurrencies, compared to 501 the previous year. Tokens from bankrupt companies such as CEL and Voyager Token have been removed from the latest list. Tokens currently added to the list include Tether Gold, Worldcoin, Arkham, Pendle, Kaspa, Mantle, Radiant Capital, ORDI, SEI, Eminer, Vibing, AIDR, MLK, Maverick Protocol, AirSwap, and more. Meanwhile, this list of legal crypto assets will be updated at least once a year depending on market trends and the status of each project, regardless of whether it still meets the requirements to be included in the legal list.
