DIGIVESTASI - The Indonesian U17 national team has qualified for the U17 Asian Cup 2025, with 16 countries confirming their spots in the final round, including Indonesia.

 

The Indonesian U17 team secured its ticket to the U17 Asian Cup 2025 after playing to a goalless draw against Australia in their final Group G qualifying match at Abdullah Al Khalifa Stadium in Kuwait on Sunday night, October 27, 2024.

 

According to reports from Kompas.com, Indonesia finished the qualification in second place in Group G with a total of seven points. This achievement came from one victory over Kuwait (1-0), a significant win against the Northern Mariana Islands (10-0), and a 0-0 draw against Australia.

 

The list of 16 countries that qualified for the U17 Asian Cup 2025 includes ten group winners and five best runners-up from the qualifying round, which will take place from April 3 to 20, 2025. Saudi Arabia, as the host, is also entitled to participate in the tournament.

 

Indonesia qualified as one of the best runners-up in the qualifiers, alongside China, Vietnam, Oman, and Iraq. Meanwhile, North Korea, Afghanistan, South Korea, Thailand, Uzbekistan, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Tajikistan qualified as group winners.

The Indonesian U17 team did not participate in the U17 Asian Cup 2023 but is placed in pot three.

 

Indonesia U17 is in pot three alongside Tajikistan, China, and Vietnam. With this pot distribution, these four teams will not be in the same group for the U17 Asian Cup 2025.
