Since the launch of Operation Rising Lion on June 13, 2025, Israel has been subjected to a massive assault from Iran, which has fired no fewer than 370 medium-range ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones targeting Israeli territory. According to the official Israeli government website, as of 10:15 a.m. local time on Monday (June 16, 2025), missile impacts had been identified at 30 different locations, resulting in widespread destruction and significant casualties.

The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that 24 people have been confirmed dead, while 592 others sustained injuries. Among the injured, 10 are in critical condition, 36 are moderately injured, and 546 have minor wounds. Authorities have stated that the number of fatalities may continue to rise as identification and search operations at affected locations are still ongoing.

This large-scale assault represents a major escalation in military tensions between Iran and Israel and is considered one of the most lethal and well-coordinated attacks in the history of the two countries' conflict. The Israeli government has raised the national alert level and emphasized that its military response will be “highly decisive.”

As of now, Iran has not issued a new official statement regarding the strike, although previous declarations described the attack as “retaliation for regional aggression committed by Israel.”

The situation remains highly volatile, and Israeli security forces are continuing efforts to evacuate and protect civilians in areas deemed vulnerable to further attacks.
