Indonesia’s National Awakening Party (PKB) urged the Three-Million-Home Program to reach low-income households. Bisnis.com reported that 9.29 million households, or 12.39%, do not own a home. From January 2025 through October 15, 2026, the program had realized 1.79 million units: 1.1 million newly built homes and 686,163 renovations. The target allocation is one million new homes and two million renovations. Irmawan, a PKB member of the House of Representatives’ Commission V, cited home prices, down payments, and bank administrative requirements as barriers for informal workers and young couples. He called for more flexible financing and coordination with local governments using updated needs data. Implementation should consider areas with concentrated poverty as well as access to water, sanitation, and public transport. Commission V will oversee delivery to help ensure the program reaches its intended beneficiaries.
