The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) was expected to move sideways with a downward bias on Wednesday, October 28, 2026. Bloomberg Technoz said pressure was linked to a weaker rupiah, rising government bond yields, and continued foreign investor selling.

The JCI closed 1.99% lower at 5,266.13 on Tuesday, October 27. Foreign investors recorded net selling of about Rp709 billion. Based on BNI Sekuritas data cited by the source, BMRI, TLKM, BBNI, BRIS, and BBCA were among the stocks most heavily sold by foreign investors.

Felix Darmawan, Economist and Fixed Income Analyst at BCA Sekuritas, said the decline reflected pressure on the rupiah, which was around Rp18,150 per US dollar, a rise in the 10-year government bond yield to about 7.5%, and ongoing capital outflows. Felix said investors were waiting for policy clarity and capital-market reforms aligned with MSCI’s input to restore confidence.

Felix also said some Indonesian stocks were starting to look more attractive in valuation terms after the correction. However, the opportunity to accumulate shares would be greater if pressure on the rupiah and bond market, as well as capital outflows, eased.
