"Bapertarum (Housing Savings Consideration Agency) is an old legacy whose funds were cut and then included in Tapera. However, actually the State Budget has injected more than Rp 105 trillion into Tapera through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP)," said Sri Mulyani during a working meeting with the Committee IV of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), on Thursday (11/6/2024).
Sri Mulyani explained that since 2015, the total funds from the State Budget that have been channeled to help people own homes through the home ownership assistance scheme have reached Rp 228.9 trillion.
In 2015, the government allocated Rp 13.3 trillion from the State Budget for apartment construction and revolving funds in FLPP amounting to Rp 5.1 trillion, which has now increased to Rp 167 trillion to assist low-income communities in owning homes.
In 2016, the State Budget allocated Rp 15.25 trillion for a combination of down payment assistance and subsidized interest rates, which increased to Rp 18 trillion in 2017, and Rp 18.81 trillion in 2019. In 2020, the budget was raised to Rp 24.19 trillion, and during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, the budget was further increased to Rp 28.95 trillion.
In 2022, the budget was again increased to Rp 34.15 trillion, in 2023 it was Rp 31.88 trillion, and in 2024 it amounted to Rp 28.25 trillion. "So, the total contribution of the State Budget to support the housing sector, especially for low-income communities, from 2015 to 2024 has reached Rp 228.9 trillion," clarified Sri Mulyani.
