DIGIVESTASI - Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman revealed that investors from Vietnam have expressed interest in investing in a dairy and cattle procurement project in Indonesia. This was recently reported to President Prabowo Subianto.

The report was delivered by Amran directly at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta earlier today. Amran mentioned that his ministry has been instructed to facilitate the Vietnamese company's entry into the investment project in Indonesia.

"There is an investor from Vietnam interested in a dairy cattle project, and we are working to make it easier for them to invest in Indonesia," said Amran after the meeting on Thursday (October 31, 2024).

Amran has not yet disclosed details about the investment amount from the Vietnamese company. The company planning to invest in the dairy and cattle procurement project is TH (True Happiness) Group.

When asked about the number of cattle TH Group would provide, Amran explained that it would depend on the amount of land prepared in Indonesia. Several potential locations have been discussed, such as Poso in Central Sulawesi, Central Kalimantan, and South Kalimantan.

"In Poso, there is 12,000 hectares of land available, while in South Sulawesi, there is around 20-30 thousand hectares. In Central Kalimantan, it could reach 50 thousand hectares," Amran explained.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Agriculture, there are currently 140 companies committed to importing cattle, with a total of around 2 million head. Of this total, 1.3 million are dairy cattle, while the remaining 700,000 are beef cattle.
