IHSG Rises for the Week, BBRI and DCII Lead the Gains
Indonesia’s stock market maintained a strong performance throughout the trading week of March 3–7, 2025. The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed up 0.27%, gaining 18.15 points to settle at 6,636 on Friday (March 7, 2025). Over the week, IHSG surged 5.83% from 6,270.597 recorded in the previous week.
Despite the weekly gain, IHSG remains down 6.27% year-to-date in 2025. Other indices also posted declines, with LQ45 down 9.22%, IDX30 falling 7.78%, IDX High Dividend 20 dropping 8.24%, and IDX SMC Liquid slipping 10.51%.
According to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), ten stocks played a significant role in boosting IHSG over the past week. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) led the pack with a weekly gain of 13.39%, closing at Rp3,810.
Notably, BRI’s President Director, Sunarso, acquired 212,800 BBRI shares on March 4, 2025, at Rp3,630 per share, amounting to a total transaction of Rp772.46 million. "The purchase was made for investment purposes," stated BRI Corporate Secretary Agustya Hendy Bernadi in a public disclosure on Friday (March 7, 2025).
PT DCI Indonesia Tbk. (DCII) recorded the highest weekly surge, soaring 33.05% to Rp154,500. Meanwhile, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) climbed 5.93% to Rp8,925.
Additionally, two stocks affiliated with conglomerate Prajogo Pangestu were among the top gainers. PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk. (TPIA) rose 8.96%, while PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk. (BREN) appreciated by 5.71% over the past week.
On March 4, 2025, Prajogo Pangestu further increased his stake in BREN by purchasing 1.3 million shares at an average price of Rp6,077 per share, totaling Rp7.9 billion. According to BREN Director and Corporate Secretary Merly, the transaction was made as a personal investment. Earlier, on February 25, 2025, he had also bought 1.5 million BREN shares at Rp6,272 per share, amounting to Rp9.4 billion. Following these transactions, Prajogo now directly holds 133,689,700 BREN shares, equivalent to 0.09993% of the voting rights.
