DIGIVESTASI - The Apple Vision Pro headphones have been available for order since last weekend. Despite the exorbitant price tag, the device still sold out in just a few days of opening bookings. Vision Pro is Apple's first generation spatial computing device. The device is priced from USD 3,499 for the lowest variant with 256 GB of storage. 

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's report, he expects Apple to sell between 160,000 and 180,000 Vision Pro units over the weekend. This estimate is based on the number of pre-orders and delivery times. This estimate exceeds Kuo's previous expectations. Some time ago, Kuo predicted that Apple would only have about 60,000 to 80,000 Vision Pro shares when it opened orders. 

Sold-out units and delayed delivery times seem to be positive signs at first glance. However, Kuo pointed out that the delivery time remained unchanged within 48 hours of the pre-order opening, which suggests that demand declined immediately after the fanboys placed their orders. Kuo compared the ordering of the Vision Pro to the iPhone which was still sold out just a few days after pre-orders opened. He said iPhone orders were still being fulfilled with delivery times continuing to be significantly delayed within 24 to 48 hours of order opening.

Of course, the Vision Pro is not a product aimed at the masses like the iPhone. Aside from being very expensive, it also doesn't support popular apps like YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix. Kuo added that the Vision Pro is currently a very "niche" product. Although the Vision Pro is sold out based on an initial production estimate of 80,000 units, that number represents only 0.007% of Apple's 1.2 billion active users, as quoted by Engadget, Tuesday (January 23, 2024). 
The Apple Vision Pro headphones will be available for order starting February 2, 2024.

Apple users who are curious about the device will be able to try it out at authorized Apple stores in the United States starting on that date. Currently, the Vision Pro is only available in the United States, but Apple plans to launch it in more countries. In addition, Apple is also rumored to launch Vision Pro at a more affordable price, ranging from $1,500 to $2,500.
