DIGIVESTASI - On January 1, 2024, only registered users will be able to purchase 3 kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.
For 3 kg LPG users who are not registered or wish to verify their user status, they must register or verify their personal information at an authorized dealer/subdistribution facility before making a transaction. This measure is part of the Government's effort to transform the distribution of 3 kg LPG bottles as planned.
This policy aims to ensure that increased funding can fully benefit disadvantaged or fully targeted groups. Therefore, Director General of Oil Tutuka Ariadji urges people who have not registered to register now before buying 3 Kg LPG.
To register, you only need to show your Identity Card (KTP) and Family Card (KK) to authorized distributors/facilities. "The public does not need to worry because the registration process is easy, fast and safe. Simply show your KTP and KK," Tutuka said in an official release, Tuesday (December 19, 2020).
In addition to the quick and easy registration process, Tutuka explained that the public also does not need to worry about the security of consumer personal data.
He explained that the government and the delegate trade organization (PT Pertamina) assured that the data of 3 kg LPG cylinder consumers registered and recorded in Pertamina's merchant app will be protected based on Law Number 27 of 2022 on the Protection of Personal Data.
From the data recorded until November 2023, 27.8 million 3kg LPG cylinder users transacted through Pertamina's merchant app with authorized distributors/facilities. To maximize data collection of 3 kg LPG bottles, the Government urges 3 kg LPG bottle users who have not registered to register immediately. Data collection of 3 kg LPG cylinder users for the first phase of the transition will take place from March 1 to December 31, 2023.
Tutuka explained that the data collection of 3kg LPG cylinder users follows the 2023 fiscal note which states the government's commitment to take steps to transition the 3kg LPG cylinder subsidy based on target recipients or by name by address and integrated with social protection programs at each stage.
The distribution of 3 kg LPG bottles must be done on time because 3 kg LPG bottles are also essential goods as stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 71/2015.
In addition, 3 kg LPG cylinders are also intended for cooking households, cooking micro-enterprises, assisted fishermen, and assisted farmers as stipulated in Presidential Regulation Number 104 of 2007 and Presidential Regulation Number 38 of 2019.
