DIGIVESTASI - Bank Indonesia (BI) has allocated IDR 197.6 trillion in cash for this year's Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period. BI Deputy Governor Doni Primant Jowono said the cash provided by BI increased by 4.65% compared to last year's revenue of Rp 189 trillion. "We are preparing because there are only two weeks left. We were ready from the start and prepared Rp 197.6 trillion," he said at a board meeting, Wednesday (February 21, 2024).
Regarding the results. Doni explained that the provision of cash had taken into account the increase in non-cash transactions.
"This means that we have taken into account cashless rates. "In the end, we consider increasing funding by around 4.65%," he explained. Furthermore, Doni said BI will have 4,674 exchange points, more than last year. "We also want to add 449 transit hubs," he said.
Denis added that currency exchange offices will also be expanded at toll road rest areas such as ports, train stations, and airports to serve returning travelers.
