DIGIVESTASI - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has warned that Indonesia will lose up to Rp 544 trillion from 2020 to 2024. This is due to the impact of climate change. On the other hand, Shri Mulyani accepted the loss estimate from Bapenath. She also recalled the calculation at the National REDD+ RBP Conference jointly organized by the Ministry of Finance, BPDLH, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and Ministry of Home Affairs.

"In Indonesia, @bappenasri estimates that losses due to climate change impacts will reach Rp 544 trillion from 2020 to 2024," she said in an Instagram quote on Thursday (February 22, 2024), highlighted in a post on gram @smindrawati. Sri Mulyani highlighted the various initiatives Indonesia has taken to address and tackle climate change issues, including results-based payments from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+).

The Ministry of Finance continues to work with all ministries/agencies and stakeholders to raise awareness on climate change. Both to mark the climate change budget in the implementation of government spending, create green Sukuk instruments, and work with @kementerianlhk to build @bpdlh.id, he said.

He hopes that the REDD+ RBP will become a forum for sharing insights and experiences, so that each region in Indonesia can create different programs to address climate change, which of course must also involve the role of local communities.
